  • Only candidates who fit our minimum requirements and current needs will be contacted for interview.

  • Potential candidates will receive background checks.  Finger printing records may also be required.

  • Potential candidates will be asked to provide mock teaching sessions prior to contract offer.

 

Current Openings:

Title:  Substitute Instructors / Various Instruments  -- Accepting Application

Responsibilities:  Provide short-term and long-term lessons in a private setting, specifically in the areas of violin, piano, guitar, voice and harp.  

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Strong verbal communication skills.  Ability to commit to a set block of time, on a short-term or long-term basis.  Strong pedagogical understanding and flexibility to teach all levels.  Reliable transportation and dependability is a must.

 

Education and Experience:  B.A. in Music, Music Education, or similar field.  Minimum of 1 year teaching experience under verifiable employment.  

Position Start Date:  Fall, 2019 - 2020

Title:  Harp Instructor  -- Accepting Applications

Responsibilities:  Provide weekly harp lessons in a private setting.  Organization of semester student recitals, and performance at semester faculty recitals required.  

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Strong verbal communication skills.  Ability to commit to a weekly schedule.  Willingness to participate in school-wide events and provide input in the growth and expansion of CLC mission.

 

Education and Experience:  M.A. in Music, Music Education, or similar field.  Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in a group or private setting.  Proficiency in piano is a plus.

Position Start Date:  Immediately

Title:  Music Therapist -- Accepting Applications

Responsibilities:  Provide weekly group and private lessons for students within Special Needs department.  Organize and collaborate with other department supervisors to provide monthly activities and events.  

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:  Expertise in the field of Special Needs Education.  Ability to work with students diagnosed with special needs such as autism, ADHD, hearing and visual impairment, and other behavioral and physiological disorders.  Willingness to participate in school-wide events and provide input in the growth and expansion of the CLC mission.

 

Education and Experience:  B.A. in Music Education, Music Therapy, Special Needs Education, or similar field.  Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in a group or private setting.  Must have experience working with Special needs students.

Title:  Beginner Guitar Instructor  -- Accepting Applications

Responsibilities:  Provide weekly guitar lessons in a group or private setting.  Organization of semester student recitals, and performance at semester faculty recitals required.

Title:  Grants Editor -- Accepting Applications

Responsibilities:  Research, prepare, and edit grant proposals to improve readability -- verifying facts, dates, statistics, and reference sources.  Confer with management on requirements and policy to ensure compliance.  Availability to attend required workshops and meetings held by grant committees. 

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Strong written communication and computer skills.  Ability to demonstrate thoroughness, timeliness, independent research, and high productivity.  Willingness to participate in school-wide events and provide input in the growth and expansion of CLC mission.

 

Education and Experience:  B.A. in English, journalism, communications, marketing,  or similar field.  Industry experience in technical writing, grant writing, or journalism.

Position Start Date:  Immediately

Title:  Community Coordinator  -- Filled

Responsibilities:  Manage CLC community engagement calendar and maintain relations with CLC partners.  Support and execute community initiatives.  Oversee social media and multimedia promotions.  Reports to administrative director and executive director.  

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Fluency in computer use, especially communication tools and data management software.  Must be detail-oriented and meet deadlines quickly.  Bilingual English, Spanish or Chinese speaker is a plus.   

 

Education and Experience:  Bachelor degree in Communications, Business, or related field.  Minimum of 1 year working experience in administrative support, marketing, or community engagement.  

Position Start Date:  January, 2020

Title:  Beginner GROUP Violin Instructor  -- Filled

Responsibilities:  Provide weekly lessons in a group setting, specifically for younger/beginner upper strings player.  Detailed weekly lesson plans and organization of semester student recitals required.

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Strong verbal communication skills.  Ability to commit to a weekly schedule.  Strong classroom management skills and ability to lead group instruction is a must.  Willingness to participate in school-wide events and provide input in the growth and expansion of CLC mission.  Candidate must undergo state finger printing, federal background check, and district approval before start date.  

 

Education and Experience:  B.A. in Music, Music Education, or similar field.  Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in a group setting, including violin and music fundamentals.

Position Start Date:  Immediately

Title:  Advanced Piano Instructor -- Filled

Responsibilities:  Provide weekly piano lessons in a private setting, specifically for late intermediate to advance students.  Organization of semester student recitals, and performance at semester faculty recitals required.  

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Strong verbal communication skills.  Ability to commit to a weekly schedule.  Willingness to participate in school-wide events and provide input in the growth and expansion of CLC mission.

 

Education and Experience:  M.A. in Music, Music Education, or similar field.  Minimum of 2 year teaching experience in a group or private setting.  Experience preparing students for ABRSM, regional and national competitions is a plus.

Position Start Date:  Immediately

Title:  Cello Instructor  -- Filled

Responsibilities:  Provide weekly cello lessons in a private setting.  Organization of semester student recitals, and performance at semester faculty recitals required.

Education and Experience:  M.A. in Music, Music Education, or similar field.  Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in a group or private setting.

Position Start Date:  Fall, 2019

Title:  Intermediate Violin Instructor  -- Filled

Responsibilities:  Provide weekly lessons in a private setting, specifically for older / intermediate upper strings player.  Detailed weekly lesson plans and organization of semester student recitals required.

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Strong verbal communication skills.  Ability to commit to a weekly schedule.  Strong pedagogical understanding and ability to train students for opportunities on the local and national level.  Willingness to participate in school-wide events and provide input in the growth and expansion of CLC mission.

 

Education and Experience:  M.A. in Music, Music Education, or similar field.  Minimum of 2 year teaching experience in a private setting, including preparations for ABRSM, UIL, and regions competitions.

Position Start Date:  Fall, 2019

Title:  Administrative Program Director  -- Filled

Responsibilities:  Develop and coordinate the implementation of curriculum by planning, organizing, and training teachers to meet standards.  The administrator will asses and and evaluate procedures for implementation by providing training as well as instructional materials to be used by teachers.   Reports to executive director and board of directors.

 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Strong verbal and written communication skills.  Expert knowledge on pedagogy, state and national standards, and global trends.  Ability to interpret and enforce implementation of curriculum and to coordinate with advisory group to develop training.

 

Education and Experience:  M.A. in Music, Music Education, or related field with 1 year minimum experience in administering curriculum development, or D.M.A. in Music, Music Education, or related field.
